cling is one of a series of performative portraits that serve as an exploration into the relationship between the Black body, Queerness and rurality, the artist photographs parts of her body in motion, hiding, play or opposition to the 21-acre plot of land that she grew up on and lived on until her 20s in Maine, a predominantly white state.
