#safetywork sign up
While all races and all genders are sexually assaulted every day, some of the most vulnerable communities are females of color, and due to a number of circumstances, Black female victims of assault often do not take advantage of support services or report incidences of violence.
As you might know, my creative practice explores the Black female experience in the United States. For this exhibition, I am developing a performative installation that I hope to create with several Orono communities.
I would personally like to invite you to join me in creating what I am calling the #safetywork manual. This manual will take the form of a 20-foot long banner that will hang in the exhibition space (AP/PE Space at the IMRC Center). Your contribution could range from as little Saturday afternoon or as much as you would like (there are always many to help!).
If you are interested please complete this form here with your availability and interest. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. You may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, call me at 207-356-2398, or message me on Facebook @EleanorKipping.
